Body

I walk forward.

I observe the jet ski in front of me.

There is a fuel tank at the back. It holds about 15 liters.

At that capacity, it looks like it will run out quickly.

If the fuel tank were larger, it seems like three people could ride it.

I am about to borrow the motorcycle from the neighbor to ride away, but

the front wheel looks flimsy.

The side of the tire is blown out.

I examine closely to see how it burst.

It is deeply punctured,

but it looks like it can be fixed by sewing it with strong thread.

..

I am on the rooftop.

This is a villa complex, and it is an old neighborhood.

The villas look to be 5 or 6 stories high, and the three in front of me belong to my eldest brother's family.

I am going to repair these villas here on the rooftop with my uncle.

They are made of cement, but they are old and have weakened, so we are repairing them.

I remember worrying in the past, wondering if the buildings would bang and collapse if multiple houses were built one above the other.

Some rooftops have makeshift shelters, while others have fences made of wooden sticks. It certainly needs some tidying up.

I observe the rooftop scenery of the villas in front of me.

My uncle asks me:

- Do you have any certifications?

- I have a driver's license.

- What about a carrying frame license? What about a [specific] license?

Since he kept asking what certifications I had, I vaguely answer that I only have a driver's license.

- Where is Auntie?

- We decided to use the entire building from the third floor upwards. Because I don't like ringing doorbells," my uncle replies.

My uncle now goes downstairs.

I look around the yard.

There is a gate, a main gate that opens inwards. It is simple.

It is made of something like bamboo, and it is cleaner than I expected.

..

There is an office building in front of the area with many trees.

Broadleaf trees grow lushly in the back.

I joined a company here that deals with trees.

I became an employee.

There are also a few university students nearby.

It is almost as if the building is nestled within a forest,

and the air is clean and clear. It is fresh.

Over there, across the road, M is about to get into a car.

- He just got discharged.

- I'm jealous.

I envy my university senior, M.

I turn around and walk toward the office, but M turns around and runs toward me.

- Let's go to the office. I'll give you everything I used.

I think to myself, "What a surprise. What a windfall."

He is giving me everything he has used and collected over the years, all in one package.

It is an unexpected treasure.

It is the workshop.

It looks like a warehouse, but there are three or four doors.

It is divided into several sections, and the subject of work differs in each room.

The room on the far right is where work related to flower arranging, plants, and flowers is done.

They finish flower baskets over there and carry them back to the office.

The middle room on the left is where tools, lathes, and milling machines are kept.

I haven't opened the door yet, but I know it by feel.

I really like rooms like this.

It feels like I could pursue all kinds of fun hobbies here.

Just thinking about it brings me joy.

I feel like I’ve officially entered a certain department.

If a question comes, I feel like I’ll be the one answering it.

I look at the map. I see some movement on it.

It’s a digital map, and it detects movement with a sensor.

Seeing that, I know someone is coming this way from the forest over there.

I wash my face next to the faucet.

An older man who was there before me asks me.

- How much does it cost to take the lectures?

- 6,000 won.

...

It feels like we’ve come to some university to study. Our group came here from out of town.

We are studying together, mixed in with the students who were already here.

We try to enter a room.

But my group member says to me:

"They said we can't go in. Only the students here are allowed."

We go inside.

As we go up the stairs on the right, one says:

"No... they say it's allowed now."

"Why? Can we only go to our room when the Director is here?"

We go up the stairs, venting our frustration.

The stairs are made of iron.

The Director's office is on the second floor.

I enter the Director's office.

The Director is sitting over there in front.

My eyes are drawn to the poster in front of me.

It seems to be related to the election for National Assembly member or the student council president that the Director is running for.

"I am running in Guro-gu, but many of my supporters from Seoul National University have dropped out..."

He is standing there saying this.

Over there, there is a poster from when he ran for office.

It is a photo of someone working at a desk. It looks staged.

People used to take a lot of photos like that back in the day.

And in front of that is a photo of them sitting at a table holding a meeting.

- "Is the voice ringing when I go to the Voice President's office? Or not?"

I can hear them talking during the meeting.

These are the young president and secretary of a school organization, and it seems they are discussing the election.

However, if they are going on business trips to visit the director, it must be expensive.

But somehow, it feels like the director will cover the costs. Right. Since people have transportation cards these days,

I get the feeling that the expenses will be deposited into that card.
